# AWX operator recovery

1. Keep the AWXBackup PVC and namespace; deleting the namespace also deletes backup data. Record backupDirectory and PVC.
2. Install the same pinned Operator in a pre-created isolated namespace.
3. Apply `awx-restore.yaml` after substituting the target namespace and exact backup name.
4. Wait for AWXRestore, database and application pods; inspect Operator logs on failure.
5. Verify admin login, organization/inventory data and a read-only job. Restore external projects and execution environments from their sources.
